Upper Extremity in Calgary
Welcome you to ALIGN Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Bracing, where we don’t just treat our patients, we empower them.
At Align, we provide comprehensive, patient-centered care for individuals with upper limb loss, focusing on restoring function, independence, and quality of life through advanced prosthetic solutions. We work with patients at all levels of upper extremity amputation—including partial hand, wrist disarticulation, transradial (below-elbow), elbow disarticulation, and transhumeral (above-elbow). Our team is experienced in fitting and training with a wide range of technologies, including body-powered prostheses, myoelectric systems, multi-articulating hands, and targeted muscle reinnervation (TMR)-compatible devices. We believe in partnering closely with each patient to understand their goals and daily needs, developing customized solutions that support meaningful activity and long-term success.
Partial Finger
Whether your goal is appearance or function, we provide custom silicone restorations and mechanical finger solutions that can restore grip and dexterity while blending naturally with your existing anatomy.
Partial Hand
For partial hand limb differences, we offer passive cosmetic options, task-specific devices, and controllable articulating digits to meet a wide range of functional and aesthetic needs.
Wrist Disarticulation
Our wrist disarticulation prostheses maintain natural limb length and allow for excellent suspension and alignment. We offer both body-powered and myoelectric options to support controlled and reliable hand function.
Transradial (Below Elbow)
We fit transradial patients with a range of prosthetic systems—from traditional body-powered hooks to advanced myoelectric hands with multiple grip patterns—customized to fit your daily activities and personal preferences.
Elbow Disarticulation
Prostheses at this level often include mechanical or powered elbow joints, paired with body-powered or myoelectric terminal devices to restore reach and fine motor control in functional tasks.
Transhumeral (Above Elbow)
For individuals with transhumeral limb loss, we offer both body-powered and myoelectric prosthetic systems tailored to your needs and goals. Body-powered options use harness systems for durable, mechanical control, while myoelectric solutions feature powered elbows and multi-articulating hands controlled by muscle signals. We also offer advanced control methods such as pattern recognition to support coordinated, intuitive movement for daily activities.
Shoulder Disarticulation
We provide comprehensive functional or passive systems that may include shoulder, elbow, and terminal devices. With the use of advanced control methods like pattern recognition, we help restore functional movement across the entire upper limb.
